Hi-Power Jack Posted July 1, 2016 Share Posted July 1, 2016 Just bought new M&P Compact, and an APEX carry trigger (5.5 lbs). Can any local gunsmith install this for me? MemphisMechanic Posted July 1, 2016 Share Posted July 1, 2016 (edited) If you can work a punch and a hammer and have a clean place to work, you can do it yourself in about an hour. Watch the videos on Apex's YouTube channel and drop it right in yourself. The M&P is a very simple firearm to work on. I've installed APEX kits, both duty and carry, in multiple guns. If it's that easy, I wonder why the local gun shop that sold me the M&P says they don't install APEX triggers? They do install "drop in" triggers ... BTW, "in about an hour" also has me worried. Your local gun shop did you a favor, if they said they can't install an Apex kit, run away from them fast and don't let them touch your gun. You do know what M&P stands for with a Smith stands for, don't you. It's an indication of the level of intelligence required to work on the guns. So M&P stands for "Monkeys and Primates" couldn't be easier. Too bad you're a continent away from me, I'd do it for free and it would take less than a half and hour to do. Then contact that dealer and see if they do it. I think anything more then $50 labor charge would be excessive.
