Steve RA Posted June 25, 2016 Share Posted June 25, 2016 When the edges of the primer cup touch the bottom of the primer receptacle. Depth will vary with different brands of cases. This is the best way to ensure primer ignition and will help with light primer strikes also. This is best attained with a hand priming device, I realize however that people shooting large quantities of ammunition would find that too time consuming so prime on the presses used.
