Deactivating Glock Slidestop?

That was a question of mine. If you're shooting Production, can you cut off or modify any part of the slide stop on the outside? I guess you can remove it completely, but I don't know about altering anything that shows from the outside, like bending or cutting.

As far as the gun physically locking to the rear, I remember when Todd used to shoot with a cobalt pin in place of a slide stop. It wasn't a slide stop at all, it was simply a cobalt pin. He said the cobalt would never break and he didn't want the gun to lock back anyway and the pin should last forever. I know Todd wasnt locking back any guns for anything at major matches then, so it shouldnt be an issue.

As far as not having a working slide stop goes, you can be like Todd and know what you are doing and have a plan, or be like me and not care what you are doing ;-)
