DA45acp
I have looked and haven't found any information on the Vectan SP-3 powder. Any better or worse than SP-2? VV N350 is pricing me out and I am looking for something more economical.
toddrod
May I suggest Ramshot Tru Blue powder. It is about the same speed as N350 and is a very fine grain ball powder ( round, not flattened rains). And is cheap when compared to Vectan or Vit powders. I like it for my 9mm and 45 ACP full power loads.
Harmon
if i had a super, i would be tempted to try hodgdon Lil Gun They list standard pressure loads that make 180+ pf.

jmaass
Vectan SP-3...Doesn't sound lioke anybody has tried it. Anybody know where it falls on burn rate? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> . Google shows inclusion of SP3 in a couple of burn rate charts, none in a format I like. This is one: http://www.bordingl.com/zprogress.htm
Harmon
SP3 is about like H110 and Win 296 its for the magnum pistols with heavy bullets.
kneelingatlas
I'm going to resurrect this thread with some info I've gathered, I know it won't be much use to anyone in the US since Vectan powders are not being imported at the moment, but maybe this can be useful to someone abroad: I tested some conservative 38 super loads with SP3 over the weekend and the results were pretty laughable:115gr Xtreme plated bullets at 1.24" out of my Y7 Gold Team (5" barrel with seven 1/8" holes), charges from 8.8-12.1gr. 8.8gr was my lowest PF 9mm load yet! 79PF 12.1gr (basically a whole case full) almost made minor at 123PF. I guess I need to find someone who loads magnum revolvers to sell the rest to It's a damn shame too, the powder is beautiful little spheres and meters perfectly.
