bengreenwell
I currently have a stretch 16 barrel with a SLR sentry 7 adjustable gas block on it. If I wanted to introduce a lightweight BCG into the rifle would I need a lighter or heavier buffer to keep reliability high and recoil down? TonytheTiger
I've got the same barrel and GB and it's never had anything but a gutted buffer or a Taccom plastic buffer behind it. I've had exactly one malfunction with that setup, apparently you'll get an FTF when you don't put powder in the case... So not the setups fault. Bullittmcqueen
Lighter buffer would be better. I currently run the taccom plastic buffer with the same setup. Are you having cycling issues?
openclassterror
For lowest recoil, run the smallest amount of reciprocating weight that will run. ANY time you reduce carrier or buffer weight, you will want to reduce gas flow to get the best effect. Lighten everything up but run full gas, and the buffer bottoms out so hard it is worse than the actual recoil as far as gun movement is concerned. bengreenwell
Thanks for the responses guys! My gun runs at the moment but I was thinking about introduction a LW BCG and was a little confused as to what other parts I needed to optimize that system. Im gonna go with Taccom buffer.
