bountyhunter
While it's in vogue to criticize S&W for the QC, and their over-selling of the "tuned PC actions," much of which is justified, we really should admit they are pretty good when it comes to handling warranty claims. The reviews I have read on their service are pretty mixed. In my case, when I had warranty issues, they would not pay for shipping so it would have cost me about $100 to send the gun in and they did not quote a repair time. I ended up fixing the guns here. I did not find that to be an adequate response for a defective gun.
pskys2
I've had 2 PC guns. The first was a PC 625 in .45 acp, it was ok but I never was happy with it. Was difficult to get loads to consistently group how I wanted. I've replaced the extractor star 3 times and had to have the hammer pin replaced. The latest was a PC 627 and I kept it factory except for Wolf Rebound springs. The action smoothed up easily and once I found the type of bullets it likes it shoots great groups. Both needed the crown redone and I also did the forcing cone and chamfered the cylinders. I wished I had just found a stock 625, but couldn't resist. I have been very happy with the PC 627. Neither had anything real bad though. I did have a buddy who had a JM 625 and he had to ream the rough chambers in the cylinder.
