swithing out feed latches on my VM Competition Tactical

I recently broke the stud that the oversized button screws into. It broke completely out of the feed latch. It looked to be pressesed or staked into the feed latch. Must have been the repeated whacks while shoving it 3 gun barrels. I ordered new parts from Rem. Can anyone provide some insight as to how to properly switch the new part for the old one. I have heard horror stories of wallowing out the hole in the aluminum reciever which then requires blue Loctite or super glue to hold the pin in. I have no time to get it to the gunsmith and certainly dont have the time for Rem to turn it around and have it back before I head to NM for RM3G.

Thanks in advance for your suggestions,

Joe

Just drift the roll pin out towards the top of the reciever. Gently pull it out with a pair of side cutters and save the roll pin. Note where the old cut off lever had springs and install the new lever by installing the roll pin from the bottom of the receiver. Don't hammer the hell out of it and all will be fine, make sure the holes line up. If you run into trouble call M.O.A. and talk to Tom, he is the inertia gun specialist.

I really doubt that the dump barrels caused the break you experienced, but Tom is the man to shead light on this.

Do as Kurt said. All it requires is some gentle persuasion and the correct size roll pin punch. Also note how deep the roll pin is in the receiver if you set it to deep it will interfere with your bolt carrier.

Make sure to get the two springs for the shell latch installed correctly. I had one slip a little when putting the pin back in and didn't test the gun before a match. I had a single shot versamax for the first stage :(

Make sure the punch you use is long enough to drift the pin out completely. If you have punches that are only an inch or so long before they get 'fatter', it might not be long enough. Also pay attention to how the springs are oriented.
