CZ Czechmate Reliability / Longevity.

Hi,

I have been using SPO1 Shadows in Production for several years and have experienced the usual and IMO acceptable failures of slide stops and TRS's at around 132 PF and 7K rounds / yr.

I am thinking of moving to Open and would like to try a Czechmate as it is a simular platform.

My concern is I hear the occasional story of this gun type shearing off or cracking locking lugs, frames and slides at relatively low round counts at major PF.

I have not seen this myself or been told what PF or round count this happens at when I've asked.

Before I commit can any CZ Open Shooters out there advise me if this is actually a problem, PF used, round counts, or any other quirks or issues with this gun would be appreciated.

I would do a search in the cz sub fourm. I shoot a Tanfoglio (simular /same design) lots of great info and project/shade tree smiths doing some GREAT stuff in that corner.

Broke a barell lug on my Czechmate today. Luckily I got 1 with 2 spare barells. I have also broken 2 slide stops.

I have put about 30k rounds through it but have only recently started shooting major.

I've seen 3 of them crack the locking lug in the last 2 seasons shooting major, only 2 people have them up here in Alberta. Personally I wouldn't drop the coin on one.

My Czechmate has been nothing short of perfect in the 5,000 major PF rounds run through it thus far. They are a fantastic alternative to the S_I platform.

I watched one break a slide stop today, its a good thing to carry extras too a match.
