XRe
Just curious - I don't own one at this point Knowing that most 1911s have a decent amount of extra meat on the front strap, is it possible to remove the STIppling, and checker over the front strap of a standard Trojan?? davidwiz
It might be possible for a checkered insert, like EGW does, to be installed. They make a "pocket" in the front strap using their EDM thingy, then weld the checkered insert in.
XRe
Yeah - that's one way. I was really curious about working w/ what's there, though I've played w/ some SS 1911s in the past that had had the front strap reduced a little bit and then checkered, and they fit my hand real nice. Wondering if that is possible to do w/ the Trojan, or not - it appears the only way to get an STI SS w/ checkered front strap, otherwise, is the insert route, or a Range Master, which doesn't appear to be USPSA Limited legal.... It'd be back to grip tape, then Dave
