igolfat8
Is there a reloading manual that gives specs for the .223 cartridge shot through a common 16" barrel? I have the Speer #13 manual and I also looked on Hogdon's site and both use 24" barrel data which is significantly different than my 16" barrel. Glockinator
Probably not, the manuals can't test for every possible combination. Use the published data and either accept the differences or chrono yourself. Depending on your use the published data will probably be close enough. asr1
Try to look at reloders nest.com if I recall some cases were shooters reports the load with speed and other data like rifle barrel lenght etc. you might find some information listed.
rtp
For .223, I use ~50FPS drop per inch, and it's usually in the ballpark, but always worth checking other people's chrono results, knowing there will still be barrel to barrel differences, even on the same model rifle and twist rate.
