MarkCO
Simple method is to load 1 more round of the type that you need. first empty the gun and load the next type of round again empty the gun in the direction of those specific targets and finally load the next type of round thats it. Waste of time and effort. Going to empty twice on a stage, on purpose is just giving time to your competition.
Willz
I try to never run any gun dry. Also I try to keep load planning simple. I stage my rounds on my belt as I plan to load them. Also I load an extra slug or two on long slug shots over 40 yards. It's faster to burn a slug than run out and try to load another slug. Also if you miss the last target in an array and it takes more than 5 sec to load another shell on an empty gun, or takes more time than the penalty let it stand. That's where your match saver comes into play if you have one. The vid of Keith Garcia quad loading on an empty gun answers the question of what to do on a empty shotgun and you still need more than one shot.
