midvalleyshooter
I have an book on Glocks written in the 90's by Kasler. In it are these guide rods with a enlarged weighted end. With the Gen 4 the end could be larger. i would think this weight right out front would dampen recoild nicely. Here are a couple of pictures of pages from the book. What do you guys think? Have you seen anything available like this recently? Does anyone still have one of these? How well does it work? RePete
Maybe it will dampen recoil but at the cost of transition speed and in USPSA/IPSC would place you in open - if legal. What about the holster? Why would you want to?
alma
I don't that these are designed to stick out the end of the gun. It looks like they were designed for the long slide Glocks to be flush with the slide when it is in battery. The ones pictured are stainless steel but actually a better option exists; full length tungsten guide rods. I ran one on my Glock 34 in USPSA Production and liked how it felt and balanced the gun. They are for sale here: http://www.glockstore.com/tungsten-extended-guide-rod-for-your-glock If you are running a Glock 17 then there are also tungsten guide rod options available for that which will sit flush but add a bit more than an ounce out front. BeckA11416
just have to be careful with weight in production division, as long as your within the allotted ounces should work nice. I switched from a G34 to a CZ Shadow because the Glock is to light for me.
midvalleyshooter
Alma is correct in the design not sticking out. I would use this in a G35 for Limited Division. The Glock is pretty light already and for me feels a little butt heavy when loaded with 20 rounds of .40. I will check out the long tungsten guide rod. Thanks, Keith
3djedi
I wish I could find something like that. That would be great on a limited gun. Especially if it was tungsten!
glockn22
curious if this is this heavier than tungsten guide rods.
alma
I kind and of doubt it. My full length G34 tungsten was close to 2 Oz. Never had issues making wait despite that.
Kraj
If you want to add weight out front look into the sjc frame weight. It looks way better

glockn22
If you want to add weight out front look into the sjc frame weight. It looks way better but the sjc frame weight requires a different holster.
