Gun Geek
I'm selling a couple of handguns - spring cleaning, want finance another project. I got an offer from a buyer who is in the UK. I'm in the US. Seems that this tranfer is not doable - lots of red tape (if it is even legal), especially to a gun UNfriendly place like the UK. Anybody have any first hand experience? PhilTerry
Not all handguns are illegal, historic pieces and black-powder are OK but I suspect that the sale is not going to be worth the problems.
BritinUSA
Depends what type of gun and what type of Firearms certificate (FAC) the UK resident has... Centre-fire and rimfire pistols are still allowed but they require a section-5 certificate. hard to come by to say the least. The UK resident should be able to supply a photo-copy/fax of the aforementioned certificate that can then be doubled checked with the UK police. If he doesn't have one of these then stear clear..
