Huge round practice?

I found a few weeks ago when I had a 800 rd practice day that I really seemed to learn more. Has anyone else tried this once in a while or am I just slow at picking up on things.

I have had 400 round practice sessions, before major matches, which is high for me. I found it to be quite helpful, but I setup practice stages and was on the clock the entire practice session.

I like to shoot one practice a week with about 500 rounds. I know it's expensive, and a lot of people will think it's excessive and unnecessary, but I love it. I think it has helped me make progress. I also try to take off work a couple of hours early the day before our local matches and put in a good long practice. It defiantly makes a difference. Unfortunatly it takes a while for me to get dialed in during my practices, and I know I need to be able to do well on the first run.

Again, it may not be the most logical way method, but I just love to shoot. If anything you do learn what your capable of. And from time to time I notice when I do something right and then try to incorporate this in my shooting.

I took a two-day course at Frostproof a few days before the

Area 6 Championship a few years ago, and noticed two things:

1. My hand was a little ragged from firing 1600 rounds in

two days

2. I took First Super Senior at Area 6.

Sore, but victorious.
