Garmil
What mainstream powder that has lots of reloading data would be closest to maxam csb-5?
blairmckenzie1
ive loaded it in 9mm and 40 and it was almost exactly the same as my titegroup loads. similar weights of the two powders look very different. csb is a big "fluffy" powder. Garmil
Thanks for the quick responses. Thats helpful if I can look at titegroup as a rough baseline. I've read a lot of the different posts they have good info I just don't know enough to turn it in to loads for different bullets.
Smitty79
If you are going to use this stuff, you must have chrono and either a good engineering background or a good reloading background so you understand how parameter changes affect pressure. Then you have to start low and monitor performance closely to validate you expectations before slowly pushing to the velocity you want. My first loads with this stuff, wouldn't cycle. Now it's my USPSA completion powder. If there was lots of great professional load data available for this stuff, it would be a good newbie powder. A double charge way overflows a 9mm case. rocice
What bullet weight? I have some of the powder and have some test loads ready to chrono. 200gr LSWC BBI starting load of 3.8gr going by .2gr increments up to 5.2gr. OAL, I need to measure it. I just go by the case mouth and about a finger nails width to the bullet shoulder. If I get out this weekend I'll post results.

Garmil
I've been making .40 with autocomp lately have had no issues. I purchased csb-1 and csb-5 to use. Going to be loading 155gr 40 115gr 9mm mostly.
