kneelingatlas
Has anyone used one of these: Briley 1911 Thumb Guard are they really drop in? do they work well?
Guest
Having problems with your thumb dragging the slide of your new gun? It ain't a tanfo, you know! I don't have any first hand experience with the Briley shield, but if that is indeed the issue let us know as there are a few other ways to skin that cat. Jim O'Young
Obviously, I have them on all of my 1911 pistols. It does work well. It replaces the plunger tube and is sandwiched between the grip & frame. To install, you must remove the plunger tube and inlet a .040" deep pocket on the backside of your grip to allow it (the grip) to lie flat on the frame. MikeRush
If that is the case I don't think it would work on the 2011 in question. STI has an integral plunger tube.
rugerp89ipsc
Might be easier to swap your safety. Which thumb is dragging on the slide.I have never had issues with this on my 1911 and back when I shot 2011s, but I am normal/small handed guy.
