625 Sear Spring

Building up a new to me 625-6 and I noticed the trigger won't reset unless I release it at full speed. Pulled out the sear spring and it's kinked, slightly.

My two questions are: Is this common, or just a bad spring?

Are all the sear springs the same on the MIM guns? Can I just pull one from the 686 and replace that with a new one when it comes in?

Could be your rebound not resetting all the way, too light a spring or its gummed up with crap.

But the MIM sear springs are the same, if that's the case

The sear spring gets kinked from improper installation or removal. It is very fragile so great care must be taken. alecmc covered the rest.

Slapped in a new 14lb return right away to make sure that wasn't it.

Now that I think about it I should have a spare spring somewhere on a spare hammer. I'll swap it tonight and report back.

Pulled a spare hammer and sear out of the parts box and noticed the sear looked different. The sear in the -6 was .020 longer than the spare sear I had from a 625-8. Opened up 3 other guns and they measured the same as the -8. Swapped it out and it works as it should. Anyone ever seen a longer sear?

The springs for the forged, non mim sears are a bit longer.
