Baby Eagle II Rear Sight Removal

Recommended Posts

Looking down the sights, the small end should be on the right side. That's how it is on my steel-framed IMI.

Be ready to do lots of fitting. Aftermarket sights seem to need lots of filing before they will seat into the dovetail without excessive force.

Just a few tips:

-Put the slide in the freezer for a half hour before punching the sight out

-use a brass punch to keep from damaging the sight

-use the heaviest hammer you can control, let the hammer do the work, not your arms

-use a solid vice, you'll be amazed how much easier it is to remove sights with a rock solid vice than with one which wiggles ever so slightly; if you don't have a really solid vice, clamp the slide to a saw horse on a concrete floor.
