pedro243
Hi all, I have just purchased a near rear sight for my Baby Eagle II and was wondering if anyone knows if the rear sight is directional in the way you have to drift it out? Cheers, PJ
phucheneh
Looking down the sights, the small end should be on the right side. That's how it is on my steel-framed IMI. Be ready to do lots of fitting. Aftermarket sights seem to need lots of filing before they will seat into the dovetail without excessive force. kneelingatlas
Just a few tips: -Put the slide in the freezer for a half hour before punching the sight out -use a brass punch to keep from damaging the sight -use the heaviest hammer you can control, let the hammer do the work, not your arms -use a solid vice, you'll be amazed how much easier it is to remove sights with a rock solid vice than with one which wiggles ever so slightly; if you don't have a really solid vice, clamp the slide to a saw horse on a concrete floor. pedro243
All done now. The new sight took a small amount of filing but it is a nice tight fit. Now i just need to find a load that works for the pistol and i am ready for target shooting.

tanfogliocoe
In my opinion. Anything would be better than what is on it now. I think I may have the rear sight duracoated. Not sure yet.
