Bshooter
Have a single stack 9mm,Caspian lower with P18-9 upper. Started using heavy (160gr) lead bullets at about 143,000 power factor and have broken two links in the last couple weeks. Anyone have any ideas? bountyhunter
Any unusual wear anywhere else like on barrel lugs or slide cuts? Breaking links is usually a fit or timing problem but not sure since it happened when you went up on PF. I would look really close for other signs. Jediwarrior
This usually indicates out of timing, particularly too much was cut from the frame. No contact with the barrel to the VIS on the frame.
ltdmstr
As Jedi stated, it's most likely due to the VIS being cut too far back. As a result, the rearward movement of the barrel is stopped by the link, which eventually breaks. Increased power factor just speeds up the process. This was very common on the early Para-Ordnance guns.
