Titegroup & .223 Remington.

Does anyone load .223Remington using HODGDON Titegroup? I saw on the HODGDON Reloading Data Center that there is a recipe for 55gr .223 using 3.1gr of titegroup with 1064fps velocity. This seems very slow of 223. Any tried and true recipes out there for this combo with velocities closer to 3000fps or does this standard recipe work well??

Thanks

Titegroup is a pistol powder. It would not work well for full velocity rifle loads*. The hodgdon load listed is probably for sub-sonic shooting.

*By not well.. I mean.... It would be VERY DANGEROUS to the shooter, bystanders and the rifle to use it beyond the listed hodgdon loads.

That's a NON cycling suppressor load.

There is data on other sites to make it happen with TG.

Using some lighter mass items and spring.
