Pasley
Generally speaking, do published starting loads for .223 properly cycle the action? Specifically I'm looking at loading 20 grains of H322 and a 63 grain bullet. Rifle is a Colt 6920.

Pasley
I tried three different bullet/powder combinations today at approximate, published, start loads. All three did in fact cycle the rifle perfectly, bolt locked back on empty every time. Sierra bullets are way more accurate in this little carbine than military type ball ammo. Who would've thunk it? For my purposes I don't see any need to do any further load development. Nice when something is easy for a change.

Just because you got a good one right off doesn't mean there isn't a better load. You also learn someting by playing with th load. It's good info to find out what your rifle shoots and what it won't.
