MetropolisLake
So I put my new Taran basepads on my G35 mags then go to seat them through the Dawson magwell. Basically what is happening is that the little stick/stopper thingy that keeps the base pads from sliding off the mag will hit the magwell and push it down. It's not tightened down so it will push it down to the point where it's almost flush with the top but not quite. Should I just tighten them down at that point, or take a drill/dremel to the plastic on the bottom of the magwell so the stopper thingy is up higher and more flush with the bottom? Zoomy
I would take a Dremel to the area in the magwell that the base pad retaining pin is coming in contact with.
WidowsSon683
Who makes a magwell that works with the TTI pads.
MetropolisLake
I just called TTI about it. They said time to whip out the dremel, either cut a V-notch in the magwell or make it go up as far as it can then grind off the base of the pin. I guess I'll be cutting the magwell's plastic body and see how far that gets me.
MetropolisLake
Dremel'ed it this morning, works fine. I was under the impression that I would have 20+1 shots with .40 though but I can only fit in 17. I guess I'll call back next week.
ttolliver
I haven't researched Glock mags, but I just put TTI mag extensions on a set of M&P 40 mags. A slight modification needs to be made to shorten the factory M&P followers so it can collapse deeply enough into the magazine to get the full round count. Maybe the same issue is at play with the glock mag. EkuJustice
Check out the YouTube video Dawson does about modifying glock followers. 17 is where it hangs if the follower needs to be modified as that's where the transition is from tube to extension
