goat68
I had a little issue with a friends Saiga 12 that I borrowed for a match where the "e" clip holding the Axis pin decided to vanish in the middle of a match. So what are the best solutions for keeping the pin from doing this again? I've read about keeper plates and shepherd hooks but has anyone made a screw together pin or am I just barking up the wrong tree? I only shoot one match in Trooper class where you have to carry all your stuff including parts and spare guns and the Saiga is nice to have for that match. I also don't like breaking my friend's guns either since he is nice enough to lend them to me. And since I broke it last year I need to fix it in order to use it this year. ParaGunner
I use a S12 specific retainer plate I got from CSS. You also mod a regarded retainer plate so it doesn't rub the bolt. It should snap into place, I never had a problem with mine.
mikeAZ
Yep, get the plate... "E" pins aren't the best
rishii
I use the shepards crook It's a pain to install, but once it's in, it's not coming out

goat68
This is perfect, two for the plate and two for the shepherd's crook!
