Bart Solo
Glock suggests some cleaning and very minor lubrication after each shooting session. I guess keeping it clean with minor lubrication is probably all you need.
dirty whiteboy
I did a test once, I wanted to see how many rounds I could put through a Glock 21 without cleaning it. I did put a drop of oil on the rails now and then... but I went to just over 10,000 rds. No malfunctions, I just couldn't stand it any longer, so I cleaned it, really wasn't as bad as I thought. neckbone
I don't think the copper colored stuff Glock puts on there is grease. I think it is something to assist in the "break-in" of the gun. I always shot about 500 rds through the gun to wear off the copper stuff. A Glock Armorer told me that the Glock grease is in fact a breakin lube that has a polishing compound in it. Leave it in there and fire away. I have copper showing through the plating on the "H" shaped piece that the slide rides on after a couple thousand rounds. Not sure why.
