New CZ 18 rd mags won't drop free

So I've started checking all my equipment associated with my new Shadow and found that 2 of the new 18 rd chrome mags I bought don't drop freely when I depress the mag release.

Where should I be looking on the mags to determine the issue? All 3 factory mags that came with the gun plus 3 of the 5 pack I bought drop like lead ballons when I hit the button ...

Take off the grip panels and try it again. It can help you to seeing what the issue is (might even be contact with the grip panels.

It's easy to over tighten the rubber grips and have the mags hang up. Check there are no burs in the release slot in the mag. Take the grips off and take the mag brake out, does it still hang up?

The grips are the thick VZ diamondbacks installed by CZC ... I'll take them off and see however, if it was the gun and not the mags that are the issue I would have thought all the mags would hang ... Unless the tolerances on the mags are such that there could be differences in them?

Yes.

The nickel mags have a thicker plating/coating than the factory magazines.

My mec gars hung up slightly when new and even after use they dont drop like the factory SP01 magazines but i still prefer the Mec Gars for reliability purposes over the CZ offerings.

Take the grips off, check your brake, and keep working the mags in and out.

took off left side grip & then screwed it back on ... boom, now they work fine, thx for the tip ...
