ES13Raven
Lets say for example, someone classified as CDP Marksman. Then they win a sanctioned match and get bumped to CDP Sharpshooter. Later on in the same year, they shoot another Classifier and can only achieve a CDP Marksman score. Are they now a Marksman again? Or once you achieve a classification, you can't classify lower in the same division?
steel1212
Pretty sure you can't go backwards.
RePete
You stay SS.
jlamphere
You can only go up in classification, never down. There is also a rule that keeps you within one classification in all divisions. If you get bumped up in ssp you can only be down one level in any other division. So if you get bumped to ex in ssp and you are a mm in cdp, you will also get bumped to ss in cdp. See rule 9.5 Equity Promotion.
ES13Raven
Yeah, I found it in the rules: 9.2.5. Shooters may not go down in Classification except for permanent physical disability or for other irrevocable reasons. IDPA HQ will determine when this is appropriate and make the necessary adjustments to the Classification Database.
