Magsz
Hey guys, I just installed a comp hammer on my SP01 and the trigger characteristics between my Shadow and my SP01 are now exactly almost the same. The only difference is how the guns cycle. The Shadow has a rounded off endplate that interacts with the hammer and the SP01 has a square edge. CAN I bevel that edge like we see on the Shadow or is this a no no? I have included a picture to show the differences. Thanks gents!
kneelingatlas
How would you describe the difference in feel?
Magsz
With my 12 lb recoil spring and factory loads, ie 135k power factor i can feel the slide pushing the hammer back instead of simply gliding over it like it does on my shadow. I tend to stick to ONE gun only so i am hyper sensitive to recoil impulses when i start getting high round counts on said pistol. I do have concerns about beveling that edge since it could prevent the gun from cocking the hammer but im pretty sure id have to remove ALOT of material to get that to happen. Yes, im a recoil diva...sue me. PS, i am using the same hammer spring on both pistols a CGW 11.5. Edited October 17, 2013 by Magsz
eerw
Slide is working harder to move the hammer. similar to using the EGW slidestop on 1911 pattern guns. should be fine to round the contour.
