Julien Boit
Hi Folks, i'm planning to put a back up/ short range sight on my AR. The plan is to put a Cmore serendipity on the handguard at the 1 or 2 o'clock position. My question is: What is the range commonly used to sight in the Red Dot ? I was thinking about 50 meters. Right ? Wrong ? Thanks in advance
Jesse Tischauser
I sight in my offset dot and irons at 15 yards. If there is a tight shot past that I'm using my scope.
Chuck Anderson
I zero based at the furthest range I'm going to use the, 50 Yards. But I also have a lot of time practicing accounting for mechanical offset. Enough that I do it automatically. The closer you sight in with a high offset sight system the more dramatic any inaccuracies in range will be. If you are planning to hit at 10, but end up taking the she shot at 20 you will probably be a couple inches off from what you expect. If you zero at 50 you're going to be within that offset till that range at least.
bagdrag
+1 to 50 yards. Great sight in distance for short range irons.
RiggerJJ
Sight your dot at 50. Then any poi out to 50 is a max of 2.5 inches low, just like your magnified sight is. JMHO...KISS jj
