flrglock
Okay so I am looking at the scoring of the fixed time stage (Stage 1) at the Area 7 match and noticed that the time is zero for most competitors but every once in awhile the is an entry of 25 seconds. All classes have at least one competitor with a time of 25. Can someone explain?
Sarge
Zero just means the shooter did not go over time. Time does not factor into the score unless they go over. 9.2.4 “Fixed Time” – Limited time, limited number of shots to be fired, stipulated number of hits per target to count for score. 9.2.4.1 A competitor’s score is calculated by adding the highest value stipulated number of required hits, minus penalties. The overall stage results are not factored, and competitors are ranked by the actual net points achieved by them. I think you are seeing penalties instead of times. Sarge
This also pretty much explains it http://www.brianenos.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=167110#entry1971445
Nik Habicht
Absolutely no idea -- but it also has no effect on scoring. Scoring appears to be correct -- i.e. each shooter got credit for hits on target minus penalties (if any).
flrglock
Nik Thanks for looking at the scoring. I was trying to figure out if the 25's were affecting the scoring. I shot the match and had a zero time and another shooter had a 25 and we couldn't figure out (1) why and (2) if it altered the outcome. At least the second part of the question is answered. It doesn't appear to alter the outcome. I am aware that shooting over time would appear as penalties. Nik Habicht
Penalties could also be extra shots or extra hits.....
