Craig-2008
can you make 44/40 shells out of 45LC brass? Edited September 2, 2013 by Craig-2008
ede
Looking at the dimensions they're pretty close. If I were loading 44/40 and had a pile of .45 Colt brass I'd lube one up real good and run it in a 44/40 die and see what happened. Now I have no idea if it'd enter the die or the result but I'd try. As you most likely know you'd have to trim the Colt brass to 44/40 length. You might get better answers on a SASS site.
COF
Unless you've got a pile of .45 LC cases, I'd just order 44-40 brass from MidwayUSA or another supplier
