CHLChris
My new 5.11 TDU rip-stop tactical pants have stupid drawstrings on the pants legs. What should I do with them? To have little bows on the bottom seems lame, but to cut them off doesn't seem wise. Scissors or tie them?
SpankYa
These are for blousing your pant bottoms. If you don't want to tuck them into your boots, then remove them.
RammerJammer
Pull them tight then cut them off.
CHLChris
What does "blousing" mean? I can get a picture, but I'm not sure what that means for pants. And after being bloused, what sort of knot does one employ? I'm considering the "pull them tight and cut" method, but that is awfully permanent.. They dont even work for blousing, thats why God invented bootbands.
RePete
The cords/strings work but they are a PITA. If you're not going to do SWAT/Para Military stuff, ditch them lest they hang up on something and your fall.
JimM
Ticks have been bad around here the last couple of years. If you are going to be wearing those pants in the woods, you might find the drawsting a handy option (although duct tape at the bottom works well too). CHLChris
They will simply be used for competition on a square range. Not many ticks in the Northwest, especially on grass and gravel. I shall cut them... Thanks for the help and the fashion lesson!
