TerryT
Thought I would pass on some info on my last training session that worked well. Listened to one of Ben Stoeger's latest podcasts on how he trains for accuracy and decided to give it a try with a shooting partner. Set up very difficult targets (for us) and two positions. These included targets out to 35 yards, no-shoots covering all but an index card sized A-zone at 20 yards, 15 and 20 yd head shots, very tight hard cover showing a small triangle of the A zone, etc. Then the wager was $0.25 for every C, $0.50 for a D or miss, $1.00 for a no-shoot. We set par times so nobody could just stand there and "bullseye" it. It got serious fast and was one of our best practice sessions in the last couple of months. Really highlighted the fundamentals and brought out some issues with grip, recoil control and trigger pull that we both need to continue working on. After only about 150 rounds, my brain was tired. MavenTactical
Think the money which was competition helped push your session as well. When you shoot for fun it's not as effective as a wager, match, or competition to push you... When I shoot with my guys we always have a competition or beer shoot, and that's when most guys turn it on.
