Comp question

I will be buying parts in the near future for a open gun. The question I have is can you use the same comp for 9mm major and minor. Will a major comp work with minor loads. I will be using the gun mostly in 3gun matches.

What kind of comp are you thinking of getting? I believe STI says thereT1 comp will work with major or minor loads though i wonder about its performance shooting major loads. And if you're going Glock open I KNOW a Carver comp will do the same.

Minor loads really don't work the comp as much since you need lots of gas to do that but that depends on your definition of minor. I would look for a comp that will work with your major loads and then the minor loads will be fine...well, since they are minor One thing I found that helps for the minor issue is loading up really light bullets (95gr) and move them at a decent speed (minor load) or just slow them down just to reduce the PF (sub-minor load).

Like gng alluded to, the best minor load in your major gun will be the same powder, she charge, but with a lighter bullet. The won't be 125 PF, but they should shoot pretty soft.
