Gun Oil
Having not shot a 3 gun match yet, and still getting my gun inventory together, I am stuck on which model of shotgun to purchase..... 1) I have seen posts here and elsewhere that say that "some" sanctioners of matches have barrel length restrictions to 22"....where and why? 2) Benelli markets the M1 Practical model as "IPSC" ready....with a 26" barrel. Why would they design a gun for a specific application if it wouldn't be somewhat competitive in that arena? 3) Since Benelli only makes an 18.5" barrell in a tactical application.....what should a guy do? I really don't expect to go out and light the world on fire, but would like to try and be competitive....but I don't want to show up at a venue and be told that my barrel is too long.... Advice, comments...alll are welcome

BillL223
I believe IPSC , not USPSA, Open class allows unlimited rounds in the tube so a 26" barrel plus maybe 3" comp doesn't exceed the 14 or 15 round mag, making the practical fine. In the U.S., a 10 round mag matches up with a 26" UN-COMPED BARREL.
