JereJoiner
True confession time ... when I began reloading 3-4 years ago I didn't read my scale correctly and loaded 9.5 GRAMS of powder in a 10mm case instead of the called-for 9.5 GRAINS. The Glock 20 didn't like it much and told me about it by scorching a couple of my fingers. Good 'ole Gaston replaced the frame and I was good to go again. I'm sure others have made this mistake -- I should have reported on it back when it happened but just didn't. Now I did and if it keeps others from making the same mistake, I did a good thing. I still consider myself a newbie, figuring that way I will always be careful and take nothing for granted. I'm also new to the forum, so this is my way of saying hello. Best to all. Hi-Power Jack
Jere, welcome to the BE. I think 9.5 grams is 146 grains - can't imagine that would fit in a 10 mm case.
WrxGuy90
Welcome. And crazy story my friend, but thanks for sharing the importance of double checking the powder. Good thing you walked away with all your digits.
Azoneonly
Welcome! Also Hi-Power Jack has it right. It's hard to get much over 50 grains of powder in a .308 rifle case! I think you need to look for another reason. Glad you ended up OK!
leoparddog
You may want to pull some bullets and consider if your powder was wrong. Sometimes you can identify powder loose or at least get an educated guess What powder were you using or think you were using?
