billdozer
Who makes the best one, with the most technical specs, pics, etc?
Rotorwrench
Kuhnhausen Volumes I & II. http://www.amazon.com/The-Colt-45-automatic-manual/dp/B0006EVYAU/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1359299145&sr=8-1&keywords=jerry+kuhnhausen http://www.amazon.com/U-S-M1911-M1911A1-Pistols-Commercial/dp/B000HEGCQ0/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1359299176&sr=8-2&keywords=jerry+kuhnhausen
Matrix68
Absolutely agree with Rotorwrench...with that said, I would add "The M1911 Complete Assembly Guide" by Walt Kuleck to your list of reference material
billdozer
So with this manual, ill be able to assemble, and fit the whole gun?
Quack
The Jerry K manuals will give you the tech info and drawings, but won't tell you how to fit the parts together. Do you have any knowledge of how the 1911 works and is fit? It's not like a polymer gun. If you want info on how to build a 1911 from scratch, the AGI video would be the best single video. The Wilson Combat and Paul Liebenberg videos also provide useful info. Sent from my ADR6425LVW using Tapatalk
billdozer
Ive took them apart and replaced parts, but no I've not done much fitting. I'll check out the video too.
practical_man
Kuhnhausen Volumes I & II. http://www.amazon.com/The-Colt-45-automatic-manual/dp/B0006EVYAU/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1359299145&sr=8-1&keywords=jerry+kuhnhausen http://www.amazon.com/U-S-M1911-M1911A1-Pistols-Commercial/dp/B000HEGCQ0/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1359299176&sr=8-2&keywords=jerry+kuhnhausen Yep. These two are great. If you can only get one, I think volume 1 is the one to get. It is certainly the one I use most often. It has plenty of detail about fitting critical dimensions. This site can be helpful too. http://www.1911pro.com/forum/viewforum.php?f=23&start=
