GorillaTactical
Well someone mentioned there should be a comprehensive list of all the higher-end Glock mounting hardware, and in an effort to centralize the discussion, let's do it. If you know of a mounting solution which hasn't been already posted to the list, please add it! SJC (4 Primary Offerings): Standard Cmore - ejection port lowering - YES, Frame Modification - YES: 90' Cmore - ejection port lowering - NO, Frame Modification - YES: Micro Dot - ejection port lowering - NO, Frame Modification - YES: Convertable Compensator Mount - ejection port lowering - NO, Frame Modifications - No: Carver (4 Primary Offerings - not including hunter models) All require a modification to the shooter's holster platform: Standard Cmore - ejection port lowering - YES, Frame Modification - NO: Aimpoint - ejection port lowering - YES, Frame Modification - NO: Edited October 25, 2012 by GorillaTactical
GorillaTactical
Carver Mounts Continued... Micro Dot - ejection port lowering - NO, Frame Modification - NO: BoyGlock's Blaster Weaver Mount - ejection port lowering - depends on optic choice, Frame Modification - NO: Slide-Ride Options: There are numerous micro-red-dots on the market today, including the Cmore STS, JP JPoint, Burris Fastfire, etc etc. Almost all of these optics have a mounting adapter plate which can be installed into the dovetail which normally accepts a Glock rear-sight. This requires no permanent frame or ejector modifications: You can also have your slide milled to accept one of these micro red dots. Doing so will require a gunsmith to permanently modify your slide, but no other modifications will be required: Not all images are my property - thanks to those who have uploaded them. BoyGlock
Aimpoint Micro on a Carver weaver rail/competition mount No need to lower ejection port Blast shield would be preferable but gtg w/o it. W/ SJC 11-port comp, blast residue is noticeable after 100 rnds of 9 major but target still good even from distance. At 15y, POI is 2-3" below POA w/ Elevation adjustment already at max. Noximus03
Great information. What all is involved with having the ejection port lowered? The ejection port is lowered using a mill. Basically, they grind the port down. I can't remember the exact measurement, but I know it's in the 0.001's. it's not much at all. I've heard of some guys using a dremel and a stone, but ill take the precision over the DIY option everytime.
