D.Hayden
Anyone using this service? Wondering how it's working and what type of device you've used. Roku or DVD player or? (TV is out for now) Of course the Samsung BlueRay I got last year - doesn't support Amazon.. There's some pretty low price Sony's that do Sony BDP-S480 Blu-ray Disc Player - for $90 With the books for the Kindle that Prime gets.. it's looking very tempting
NewRacer
The service works great, no bandwidth problems here. I think the selection is good, but not great. (I have Netflix, so the combination of the 2 are perfect for me) We had 1 Roku and everyone seemed to fight over the use since it seems everyone wanted to use it at the same time of the day. We have 2 Rokus now and both work without issue at the same time! (Roku 2 XS and Roku 2 HD) Personal Note: I can get you a referral link for the Roku 2 that gives you $5 off. PM me if interested. Mods: delete if not approporiate.
D.Hayden
Thanks.. I may take oy uup on that.. looking at local stores today Is there anything the Roku's can do.. that the DVDs don't?
Nik Habicht
The ROKU seems to work more seamlessly than the Playstation 3 we use as a DVD/Blu-ray player..... The Playstation requires software updates and reboots, the ROKU just seems to work -- all the time. If it updates itself, it does so without me noticing... diehli
I just hook my laptop up to my TV and sound system. Easy peasy. If you wanted more functionality you could pick up a cheap computer (or a Mac Mini), hook it up to the TV, get a wireless mouse and keyboard, and play things that way (and, as a bonus, you'd also have a big ol' screen to watch Internet porn on). D.Hayden
CostCo has the Roku 2 XS for $90.. Same price as the Sony BlueRay - so it's sort of a toss u p- adding one more box (although really small) - or changing the known working DVD I have.. for a Sony that might not. I think it bother me more that I'd render the DVD I got a year ago.. to the basement junk/spare pile Really comes down to a coin flip
