9 major with a conversion barrel

I run a Barstow barrel w/ an SJC comp on my G17 Open gun. Ejection issues aside, the Barstow is a little "clunky" in that it doesn't go into battery as smoothly as my gunsmith would like. We finally got it working but he leans toward the opinion it's something about this configuration. My G17 is no 2011 but it's also not $3500! Your results may vary. :eatdrink:

I finally got my issues worked out but have been warned that I may have problems later. Once I got my load right it corrected most of my ejection problems. No jams but never know where it's going to throw the brass. So I guess that means it could potentially jam?

It has to do with the lock-up of the Glock platform using a big single upper lug instead of 3 small lugs. It will never be as smooth as a 2011, but as you said it doesn't cost a ridiculous amount either.

I'm running a Lone Wolff slide with a KKM barrel for 9mm, and the same for the .40 side of the house. Both run on a G22 frame, and so far the only real ejecktions issues I've had come from the .40. Take a hard look at LWD if youre going to try to DIY an open slide. They will match fit a barrel to your slide before the ship it out.
