Julien Boit
Hi all, I just opened a brand new spring package from ISMI. It was labeled 12.5 lbs. When I put it in my gun, oh my ...! It was rather something like a 15 or 16 lbs. Anybody ever had a wrong spring in a brand new package, or a wrong label ?
Yardbird
One time I ordered an ISMI 15# spring and received a spring that was more like 17#. The second time I ordered an ISMI 15# spring I got something like a 13# spring. No more ISMI recoil springs for me.
mike l m
Have had it happen with wolf springs for a commander, but they took care of it. replaced the sparing and told me to keep the other one. they have my business. mike
Aircooled6racer
Hello: I have it happen more than once with Wolff brand springs. A 14lb pound spring was a 8lb---maybe. I also had a 11 pound spring that was a 16lb. I test the springs now with a tester I built. I use ISMI springs. Sprinco say they test there springs but I have not tried them yet. Thanks, Eric
dsmw5142
I replaced my mainspring with a new "17lb" Wolff spring last night and I swear that spring was more like 27lbs. Good thing I had a few more that were labeled 17 and actually felt like it.
Julien Boit
Ok, I'm not the only one ! I took another one labeled 12.5lbs and it's the right one. This is the first time I have this problem, I've used ISMI springs for years. Thanks for the input.
dave79
How do you test a spring? How do you build a spring tester?
