jaffo
Can you use the Lee Universal Depriming and Decapping Die in a Dillon 650 to remove a lot of primers quickly? Does this remove the crimp? I was reading a different forum and it gave me the impression that it did, but never came out and said it. Thanks Ryder
BlueOvalBandit
No decapping pin will remove the crimp. It will decap crimped primers though, the brass then need to be either run through a swager, or give it a pass with a chamfer tool, doesn't take much. djthemac
I attempted to run a lee universal decapper in station1 and a dp 223 resizer in station 2 and promptly broke the dp decapping stem yesterday. :-( Neither will ream a primer pocket Edited January 15, 2012 by djthemac
jaffo
If I set up a tool head with just this die, can I run it as a fast de-priming machine? And use it with the case feeded?
Intel6
Yes, I have done that exact thing. I have decapped clean cases just so I could swage their primer pockets. One caution is to watch your speed. Since you are just decapping you tend to go faster and the long case can be tippy and get misaligned. If it happens at the decapping pin you will have an issue. You can go fast, just need to make it smooth. Neal in AZ
warpspeed
I too have done it but on a 1050 when processing a lot of rifle brass. Like Neal said, be smooth. The longer cases like to tip.
