Tzygä
Do I need 38 super or 38 super comp (.233 rem.) shellplate for Dillon super 1050 press if I reload for Armscor 38 super rimless brasses? If both works? Which one is better?
uscbigdawg
The .223 should be correct, but I'd try both as the rim dimensions tend to vary on the Armscor brass (at least according to Guy Neill). Rich
richard franklin
223 is the answer!
short_round
I went through this a couple of months ago. After calling them on the phone and telling them I was setting up for .38 super comp, the Dillon folks sent me a .380 ACP conversion kit. I'm not sure what the number on the shell plate is (I'm not near the press right now) but when I get to it I'll post the number here. So far it works great with starline .38 super comp brass. [edit] ooops ... you're asking about a 1050. I did all this on a 650 so it might not apply. [\edit]
stingerjg
i use the .380 shell plate. you could get buy with the one for the 38 super but the .380 weeds out all of the reg super brass.
TMC
Armscor brass works in the .223 shellplate on my 650.
warpspeed
You can get away with the 9 mm shellplate but if you use the 380 / 223 one, it will not let the rimmed super or any of the 9x variants get mixed in by accident.
Rob Bagnato
Get the .223 shell plate. You have a better chance down the road of loading .223 than .380. If you need to sell the shell plate much easier also. When I was shooting super comp that was the ticket. The already metioned benefit is you wan't get a piece of super brass onto that shell plate. Go with the .223 shell plate.
Tzygä
Thank you for your answers. I ordered Dillon super 1050 .38 super comp so that will work for Armscor .38 super rimless brasses. It won't need bigger shell plate.
drat0311
.223 and .380 are the same shellplate (#3) that work for .38 super rimless/comp the 9mm and 38super take the #5 shellplate and both plates use the #3 buttons
