Barsto BS40 vs STI Edge 5" for limited

I have an opportunity to buy either a used but tuned Barsto with 2 mag or a brand new STI Edge with 1 mag. Since both are same price, which I should go with? Which is better?

How used is the BarSto? How many rounds?

If the round count relatively low, I'd go with the Barsto.

I have an Edge and an Eagle and would not trade either. Both tuned by Dave Dawson so you're sol if you buy from somewhere else. They are great guns.

What kind of tuning was done on the Barsto? What kind of round count?

I think the barsto will probably be the better gun unless it's seen a lot of use. Barsto uses good parts but needs a little tuning to get into game shape. Sounds like that might already be done. The STI edge will need to be tuned also and uses some cr@ppy parts.

On my Barsto I had a Dawson front sight installed, the chamber had to be reamed, and I did a trigger job, polished the feedramp, pinned the grip safety, and retensioned the extractor. I had to change the thumb safety because the STI one it came with was junk.

The STI will need most of the same things (except for chamber reaming) but maybe some parts swaps too.

My Barsto went to Benny and has never had an issue afterwards. It shoots real tight groups. I like it so much I bought another one.

If you know the barsto works and round count is under 10k buy it.

The edge may or may not work well out of the box.
