Manners and machines

This is a pet peeve of mine, people who cannot quickly operate the self checkout at the grocery/apc at post office/red box machine. I inevitable get stuck behind them while they take 5 minutes to do something that takes me 30 seconds. And rarely do these slowpokes seem to notice the line of angry people behind them.

So I have an idea, all red boxes, apcs and grocery self checkout machines will have a 2 minute timer. If it takes you more than 2 minutes the machine flashes a red light and makes a loud noise and the customer has to go to the regular checkout (or just away for red box).

What do you guys think?

I think you need to relax a bit. Take some time and enjoy life instead of being in such a rush. Take a moment to strike up conversation with that person or the person behind you. Life isn't a race, none of us are getting out alive.

Nah that's just not right bro... I think a cattle prod should shoot out of the box and leave them flopping on the ground like a fish out of water!

Or a red light flashing, a horn goes off, and an announcement goes out over the store's PA system: "Associate to self checkout to help the putz that doesn't know how to use a bar code scanner!"

Perhaps the machine should first issue a warning. Something like " In 5 seconds, you will be tazed bro!"
