Foxbat
After replacing the aluminum blast shield on my gun again, and after seeing a titanium one on someone's gun, I decided to make one. I never worked with titanium before, but much information is available on line. The material itself is not expensive - a 6" long bar cost me $73... enough for maybe five parts. I used the Bedell shield as the model. There are tricks to working with titanium, but you also learn as you go, so if I ever had to make the second one, I am sure it would come out more to my satisfaction. As it is, the shield is functional, and now just requires some finishing touches - softening the edges, some relief, etc. Edited July 22, 2011 by Foxbat

Foxbat
No, I am just a hobbyist-machinist, I don't have the production-quality equipment, but if Bedell made the titanium version I am sure he would have good sales. Yes, the comp is titanium, made by my gunsmith.
