Soft shooting 9mm load for Steel Challenge?

I'm shooting a state level Steel Challenge match in a couple of weeks and I'm looking for input on a nice soft load to shoot from my M&P 9 Pro.

I have Montana Gold 124gr CMJ and Berry's 147gr plated bullets on hand.

Is there any PF requirements in steel challenge? I have tested a few light 9mm loads in my M&P 9L 5" barrel and they seem to function reliably. both use a 124gr MG JHP set at 1.090" OAL (mainly for my CZ's short chamber).

3.5gr of 231 with a Berry's 147gr plated bullet feel great and is accurate. Loaded up enough of it for this weekend's SC match.

Is that Winchester 231?

I would like to try that, but I shoot 124gr MT Gold CMJ

Yes. I tried it with 124s and didn't like it.

I took the bait on a load with IMR7625 since I had some from my old Tanfo days. With 124gr MTG set at 1.145 I loaded up a batch of 200 to try at 4.8gr (the minor load given was 4.6gr). I intended to Crono but got busy, so I decided to shoot my CZ Shadow in a match and I took these load along to try, on the first stage I mixed them with my normal 4.0gr N320 loads. I couldn't tell the difference. After the match did some testing (shooting) on 12" plates and large poppers, based on this the IMR load was definately a little stronger than the N320. Hope to Crono soon.
