Memorial Match in Austin

Recommended Posts

I got a message from Sheldon Carruth who runs the Austin area matches and put on the recent LaRue Multigun.

(from a few days ago)

Hey Shooters,

It is with great sadness and disbelief that I write this email. One of our

shooters, Jonathan Taylor, suffered a loss so overwhelming that words cannot

describe the pain and suffering. Vance Oliver Taylor, Jonathan's son, died

yesterday from injuries sustained in a household accident. To help my good

friend cover the cost of funeral and medical expenses I thought we would

host a special fundraiser match to help them. Please come to the match and

support a fellow shooter. He was one of my RO's on stage 8 at the LaRue

Tactical Texas Multigun Championship. He has been a supporter of ALSPPC and

he's been a good friend. LaRue Tactical, www.laruetactical.com, has

generously donated an OBR 5.56 for a raffle drawing at the match on

Saturday, May 28, 2011 at the Best of the West Shooting Range in Liberty

Hill, TX. There will be two matches competitors may choose to shoot, 4

stage USPSA pistol match, match fee $40, and a 4 stage 3 gun match match fee

$40. Proceeds from the raffle and the match will be donated to Jonathan and

April Taylor to help cover the costs associated with their tragic loss.

More details about the match to follow, thank you for your help and support.

My condolences to Jonathan and his family. For those of us that will not be able to attend the matches on the 28th, is there a way we could participate in the raffle? Also, may I have permission to link this thread in another forum, many of the people in that forum participated in the Tx Multigun Championship last month.

An update from Sheldon:

Hey Shooters,

I've gotten quite a few emails concerning the raffle. We were unable to

secure another means of payment. I checked with another service and we are

waiting for validation which takes a few days. My account with paypal is

not frozen and should you choose to risk sending funds *DISCREETLY* we

shouldn't have a problem. * DISCREETLY means no mention of raffle or

firearm.* ... As for the match, we've got two lined up, a USPSA pistol

and a 3 gun match. 4 stages each with approximate round counts of 120 for

the pistol match, and 75 rifle, 60 pistol and 40 birdshot for the 3 gun.

Setup help is greatly needed and starts at 730am Saturday morning. Thank

you again for all your support, look forward to shooting with you.

Please remember our sponsor, LaRue Tactical for their generous

contributions. http://www.laruetactical.com

Late for snail mail, email Sheldon for other options.
