With a 5" SV AET barrel, I was using 4.6 grains of Clays, under a 180 grain MG JHP loaded to 1.21 It was VERY soft! You could probably go 4.4 with those bullets. Maybe less.... I will also consider titegroup as I have it too I have never used clays with BBI but stay away from titegroup it is VERY smokey. There is tons of info on VV320 and some on solo 1000. Avezorak Posted May 5, 2011 Share Posted May 5, 2011 I wont use Clays for major .40 loaded short. My production load is 3.0 Clays, BBI 180 TC, CCI SPP, mixed brass loaded to 1.135. Its a great load.
