atbarr Posted April 26, 2011 Share Posted April 26, 2011 This Sunday, The Blue Grass Sportsmen’s League http://www.bgslinc.com/index.php is having their monthly USPSA Match. This will have 5 stages, and one will be a classifier. This month the long gun is Shotgun, and will require some slugs. So bring a couple of boxes of slugs and some shot. The round count for pistol will be 150, without any makeup shots, so bring 200 to be safe. Match registration will be open from 9:00 AM until 10:00 AM at the shelter in the pistol pits. New shooter registration will be open from 8:45 AM until 9:30 AM. Set up begins at 8:00 AM, we go hot at 10:30 AM. New shooters (to BGSL) must arrive no later than 9:00 AM for the new shooter check. THE GATE WILL BE OPEN! Match fee is $20.00. BGSL members shoot for $15.00. Junior shooters (17 and under) shoot for $10.00 with a paid adult. As always, we welcome new shooters and spectators. J/K This isn't the one I was trying to get started, but a different one, even closer....At any rate, I'm not the pusher this time as I was in the last try, and the range where these will be held is in a much better position to hold pistol matches than the rifle range I was trying to get going before.... We had about 30 people show up today, with the section coordinator, and most everyone was in favor of it (most had never heard of USPSA), but there were few of us there....Hell, anything will be better than a 5 hour round trip to shoot a local match.... BTW, I consider the BGSL matches local, even though I'm 11 hours away now, when I'm there, it's 1.25 hours....And a great bunch of guys to shoot with!
