kreativecid
The TRP's grips are painful! Been using Horned Lizards by Davidson and they are comfy but still, uh, grippy. Do I sand them a bit? It's where my strong hand wraps around and onto the left side panel. The tiny prickly raised surfaces are like safety pin pokes. Will they dull out soon? Always wondered how long micarta grips lasted..... Or do I apply another layer of vagasil and sell them and get another set of Horned Lizards? pjb45
You can sand them or use a stone to knock them down a bit. On my 1911, I sand them almost smooth, dremel a groove where my thumb drops to the safety, then put skate tape on the grips. Works better than the original checkering. ParaGunner
Just barely sand them with some emery cloth to break the sharpness. Try and get the highest grit possible to do the least damage.
kreativecid
Thanks for the tips! Almost made me wonder if I should slap on cheapy faux wood (like the stock STI Spartan grips) and cover with deck tape. Seth
Fair warning... you do NOT want to breathe micarta/ g10. Use a particulate filter. Its BAD for you
